A never-ending lockdown and a new hobby
The downside of being stuck in a lockdown in the Philippines that clearly will not end anytime soon and which has already halted my public music life for more than 5 months is that it is draining to be away from people, our audiences, and the outdoors. Not being able to explore, to travel, to have in-person conversations with strangers, that is increasingly difficult.
An upside to this, however, is the discovery of new interests and hobbies. For me, one is apparently photography. It's been a great way to distract from the craziness of the world. Macro photography in particular (for which I am really a novice) has proven to be therapeutic in a way. What a world exists in front of our eyes that we are usually too busy to notice. It's all around us if we just pay closer attention.
